Really don’t see the Caicedo hype, or at least not for us. He’s very similar to Casemiro but worse in most aspects, so he’s not a direct replacement. I don’t think ETH wants to play with two defensive midfielers (especially since Caicedo is not that great going forward), so he’d basically be a Casemiro back up / future replacement, which is fine if he wasn’t £80 million! If we’re bound by FFP and still need to spend big on a striker and gk, I don’t see the point in getting him. I know we need someone to back up Casemiro, but there are way cheaper options for that. Like I think Caicedo is a great player, but not one we desperately need compared to other positions.

Arsenal payed almost double for a player of the same quality and contract situation, nothing to be ashamed of.

I’m pretty on the fence about Mount in terms of how he fits the squad but at his best he’s basically been a top 3 Chelsea player over the last few seasons when they’ve actually won major trophies

This Lavia guy from Southampton a DM right? Get him in for £35 mil after we’ve gotten a striker + gk and sold some players. Or try to get Paulhinha from Fulham into that Fred deal, would be some very sensible transfers.
