also lot of revisionist history on evans - good on him for getting his career back on track but he was so error prone for us his last 2 seasons and that incident w Cisse was a big strike against him.

iirc he got banned for like 6 games because of an incident where he spat at cisse (who retaliated in kind but ofc that’s no excuse).

would agree on mkhitaryan but I have faith in fred - he may never justify his price but I think he'll be a reliable player for us.

Very harsh putting Dalot on that list, because he was signed based of his youth and talent and hasn't really be given that much game time to prove himself. Mkhi to me was a failure, despite that wonder goal he scored that got overshadowed by Giroud. But he didn't live up to the hype he had. You could easily put Falcao or Bastian in there too considering there reputation, but they were shadows of there formers selves.

I don't consider to Mata one of our best signings either, and that's not a knock on Mata it's more to do with him being played out of position during his time at the club. He's more of a number 10, while at United he's been played as a winger or as a right to left sided central midfielder.

I think Dalot was their 5th choice probably. tbh pogba for the $ has not lived up to hype and really has been mostly a headache his whole time here.

I wouldn't disagree at all with putting Pogba in that list. Even though I'm one of those who highly rates him like you say he hasn't lived up to the hype. As United fans all we get from him over the years is where his next move might be.

I hope Tuanzabe can be the guy to compliment Maguire if he doesn't succumb to injuries again. Although he's not a top top CB Nathan Ake could have been the solution to complimenting Maguire as he's a pacy left sided CB.

It would be f***ing stupid to sign Koulibaly and it's never going to happen anyway, that ship has sailed. Agree with @Root that we need a DM (Zakaria?) but with Pogba probably/hopefully leaving in the summer I'd like to see us go big on Grealish.

Laird should be brought through to start pushing AWB, Mengi is supposed to be seriously talented so him and Tuanzebe could stake a claim next to Maguire while Diallo Traore coming in January has probably put paid to Sancho joining (I hope Dortmund cry themselves to sleep every night). I also think Grealish offers the flexibility to play outwide as and when we would need.

A few tweaks away from having a well-balanced, potent squad. I don't think management is well placed to take advantage of it but ho-hum. We'll see how this season plays out.

Isn’t the issue with Jack - and I have watched a lot of him consistently - his best spot is where rashford plays the wide left forward role.

He's really, really useful in midfield as well, I think playing him just out-wide would inhibit some of the best parts of his game (passing, vision, tenacity, ability to control a game etc.). He could be our very own KdB! Potential issue with pairing him in a midfield duo with Bruno would be we'd need a more useful DM and at that point you're looking at a £150m+ spend at least. I'd get him in though and rotate McT, Fred and Matic (if he stays) because he's that good.
