But looping back to topic writing needs to improve on future projects. Where it doesnt feel like action figures. where it feels like heart felt story. You dont want to fall into the same fan service traps that MCU has. Clayface and Lanterns seem like a good balance. With how many characters are in Man of tomorrow I hope it feels like a good balance and improves upon the things in Superman I didnt like. It wasnt a terrible movie but man oh man is some of it just baffling.

I think making a conflict like that then playing the safe "its not israel palestine" while also not really making it the moment it felt like in the trailer feels like a disservice but to each their own. Everyone specifically to me hyped this up as "omg this a pro palestine movie you got to see this omg he snapped" then I go and see it and I am like bro did something but didnt snap.

brother spider man 1, 2, 3 introduce many characters and plot points. Even 3 even with my faults with it blends characters and motivations in a way that makes sense. Movies where there will be more of them and their named after ONE CHARACTER in the movie people tend to want to say man that was a great story about that ONE CHARACTER IN THE MOVIE.

Can I say that was a great superman clark kent story front to back that served the character to the fullest ? No. I said the same thing about spider man as a movie but more because same as this I like hero movies immersing in their world. Having a secret identity livign a normal life where they arent simply dragged to plot point to plot point

But even within the movie I dont think the war or conflict is really that well done . For me you could have damn near cut the giant monster in metropolis. Yes I get it see superman save pepole and city say "lets evacuate so there is no damage to civilians" but watching the trailers it felt like the emotional core was a child lifting a flag for superman and to help with the war. the conflict of humanity. Which I hoped was natural no lex control because then it really does become when does superman get involved. Instead again it played out similiar to BVS

I don’t understand belittling characters in a world where we are getting a Jimmy Olson gorilla grodd movie . In a situation where Jimmy mainly shown as a womanizer who avoids the woman giving him Lex inside intel

There is a bit of a tonal mismatch in a movie where

• Superman kicked in balls
• Krypto constant jokes
• Hawkgirl in for 5 minutes and breaks hero rule of killing humans like it’s nothing
• falafel cart man executed then Superman gives the murderer a speech about being a good person
• war conflict kind of a quick after thought in between the many other plot lines shoved in

Every time it approaches a topic or shows some vulnerability or depth it jokes about it . It’s as if it fears being too dark or serious so says “ let’s make them laugh we can’t Bvs this “

While in my opinion having some of my gripes from Bvs. Fighting a clone create a character Superman ( Bizzaro) , engineer and Lex who again the joke is he learns moves like a fighting game

No part of the movie solves the part of trusting heroes or meta humans . Yes Superman resolves Lex and justice gang the orchestrated war but Superman still wouldn’t fully be trusted . S*** who gonna trust him after he teams up with Lex one movie later . Yes greater evil in brainiac but the message decoded that lex didn’t manipulate is still there

Fair enough. The key word here is 'adapting' - if you are adapting a comic book to a movie you gotta play by the rules of the medium you are adapting into. But I think we are fundamentally in disagreement over this so no point in arguing any further. 🤝

Threads get boring if it’s just “ peak “ or “ garbage “ . Some people get upset at discussion . There are things I think Superman did well

• Lex was a good villain even if at times a bit corny
• Mr terrific aced every scene liked him as a character
• daily bugle playing a prominent part
• metamorpho even if when originally announced I was hyped because I thought he would be more of a focus . Wish he got a lot more . To the point I would hehe preferred he was the villain being used rather than ultraman

Ultraman I just really dont like a clone dummy character often used for laughs . Hypno glasses work for sure but they would have a better idea of what he looks like .

Metamorpho a layered human character that would have been cool to see him fight in city because baby Joey held captive rather than in pocket world interaction .
