WB should make static shock, cyborg, John Stewart green lantern movies before this tbh.
if they didn't botch their own movie universe they were going for, they would have 2 strong black characters in cyborg and green lantern. both are major players with the justice league.
damn shame things got derailed. the train has fell off the tracks and these guys are just flinging s*** at the wall to make some $$$$ to keep things rolling. no long term investment at all

Exactly, putting this movie out is not even a smart move before putting out a movie for those characters.
As much as a black Superman would be something new, I don’t think audiences are ready to accept a different iteration of their favourite superhero yet
This would fail horribly at the box office, unless it was a game changer on the level of infinity war, tdk
They could make this mf eskimo for all I care, just give us a well written character. None of that emo, brooding zach snyder bs.
Yeah he’s out out
didn't he mention that WB should be focusing on the actual black superheros too? instead of trying to change up an iconic hero

Different headline but I already posted that here yeah

man y'all are the worst kind of movie watchers
still crazy to me (not really) WB owns all of Milestone comics (an all-black comic line) and are only gonna use Static Shock from it....and thats only really cus of his prior success + recent success of similar young black characters like Miles Morales
Like Icon is right there. A classic black superhero movie in the making right f***ing there that the hood would show up for if promoted right.
Feel like MBJ was hinting at this and it mighta been the context of his rumored "Black Superman" pitch a couple years back. There's no coincidence he jumped on Static Shock to produce while also wanting no part of this movie
how come?
yall jus want every character to be bland and shouts out corny one liners for cheap humor like the MCU
this why mfers was happy about Shazam when that s*** was ass

The f***, no I dont. Most marvel movies are bland as s***, and Shazam was trash.
Superman is actually a very interesting character, and all I said was "I hope this time around they do him justice"

Cavills Superman was a great portrayal and a unique take on the character. Not really sure what you would consider doing him justice considering most Superman portrayals prior to that have just involved him feeling like a generic stoic guy who is overpowered as s***.
Atleast Snyder gave him a genuine moral conscious about what his powers mean for him and the world

His portrayal of a cold, emotionless, zero charisma alien with no care for human life didnt do it for me personally.

Huh he cares deeply about human life lol
Pretty sure you described Dr Manhattan. MOS presents him as having a ton of empathy. The fact he kills the last of his kind to save one human is pretty much the exact opposite of what you’re talking about.

MOS presents superman as a god masquerading as a human (peep the not so suble jesus poses). But Superman should be a human first (he was raised on earth after all), and a powerful being second. That's why (to me) he never came across as relatable or likable. He even commits some uncharacteristic acts - like destroying some guy's truck for a petty reason, stealing random ppls clothes, LEVELING an entire city with no care for its citizens, etc.
MOS is horribly written imo (pa kent casually suggesting clark should've let children die in order to protect his secret identity, bruh what
)
Agree to disagree, I guess.
They really doing Latina Super girl and Black Superman
Clark Kent getting pushed aside

Saying he "killed one of his own kind" isn't really a big thing cause his kinda never really gave him a choice.
As far as he was concerned it was a choice between people on a planet he's been on his entire life or a group of people who immediatly tried to battle him and take over.
The film acts like its a choice but the story doesn't really leave room for that character stuff which is an issue frequent in the Snyder trilogy.

I mean obv if it was up to him, he wouldn’t kill anybody. But it is a choice because he easily could have let this guy live. It’s a powerful moment because Superman has to break his rule and take a life to save someone else’s who isn’t his kind.

I mean what would you consider good writing in a superhero movie then? The entire genre in essence has always been fascistic to atleast a degree: Holland’s Spider-Man is a billionaires b**** who goes around beating up working class people mad they got f***ed over by the Stark corporation, Nolan’s Batman literally wires every persons cell phone and spies on them.
He destroys some guys truck cuz the guy was an a******. It’s really no different to when Raimis Peter Parker beats up a bully using his powers. And the fact he does level an entire city is explored a lot in BvS. You can easily argue if he didn’t fight Zod, the entire planet would be destroyed so it’s really a damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t scenario.
Idk man, it’s weird you say it’s dumb for his dad to suggest he let children die and then complain about him trying to save the planet from people who intend to destroy it. Like there’s obviously going to be collateral. Plus his dad ends up being right. By revealing to the world he’s Superman, that is how Zod finds Earth
