I never said that and I know you're joking. I'm just letting you know that the label has no "design team." Every artist does what they want to do. Nicki and Drake were signed to the same label for years and used different producers/video directors/visual design artists throughout that time. Some people might see your post and think there's really a team of designers that make s*** for all the OVO Sound artists and that's why I'm clarifying s*** up.

And yes, the label will approve what they bring because at the end of the day, it's their art. Look at all the wack/mediocre covers we've gotten from Drake. You think his label will deny him if that's what he wants to go with? Same with Majid Jordan, dvsn, PARTYNEXTDOOR or anyone else on OVO Sound.

They all have their visual/creative guys who suggest stuff to them but they get final say on what they present to the label. The cover isn't great but it's not the worst thing so why wouldn't the label approve it if that's what they both decided to go with?

that user is a designer themselves, so i think they simply traced/outlined on the artwork to highlight the bad shading, especially above Jordan's head.

on that same page of the thread the official artwork is just a few posts above his edit, he wasn't trying to pass it off as the official or "be messy" lol.

That's exactly why I'm clarifying it. Majid Jordan's visuals for their debut album was amazing and really well done. Same for their sophomore album and it's completely different from what the other OVO artists do.

OVO clothing designs have always been minimalistic. Bombastic designs have never been their thing and their customers know that. Their fabric quality is premium and just as good as anything else out there and that's why people support them.

Doesn't matter. They went out of their way to highlight that one and pass it off like it's the official cover when it's not for no reason.

But it was unnecessary and he should have stated that. 11 replies and people responding all think that's the official cover. He went out of his way and edited the cover to make it look even worse to prove a point. He didn't need to highlight anything. We all agree the cover sucks.

I think they wanted the cover to show their faces, their official logo and the album title. It could have been done a lot better but it's whatever. The important thing is that the music is dope.

It's the cover. I'm more excited for the album and the tour. I've attended all their tours and they always elevate their live experiences.

This was basic as hell lol. Their debut album cover is still the best but it's not that deep. There are way worse covers out there.

From what I’ve heard it’s really promising

They haven't missed at all. From their first project ever (Afterhours), to their first EP, to their first and second albums. They have an amazing track record and all the singles from their third album have been really good. I have no reason to doubt the album will be great.
