Same director as Call Me By Your Name with Cohen Brothers writing? This could be one of the best remakes.
Y'all really don't mind this cause the last one was a remake? How many good remakes does Hollywood have as of recent lol.
i don’t mind it cause it don’t rub me like other remakes. others feel like cash grabs off popular name... ghostbusters... Oz.. lion king. throw money at it and it will generate. i feel like coen brothers wont contribute to something unless they got an interesting story to tell. this movie is also set in LA... feels like a fresh way to tell an old story
Needs to be someone latino or at least mixed. Oscar Isaac
Pedro Pascal also a great, high profile latino actor.
Would be cool seeing him playin a d***dealer, considering his role on Narcos

I dont wanna be another film nerd that complains bout remakes but unless there's a new concept or anything you can add to a story without butchering it you shouldnt be remaking these landmarks of cinema
I'd prefer it if scarface was an inspiration for a new similar movie rathen than making the same movie every 20 years

i feel like its called a scarface reboot just because its gonna be about an immigrant that becomes a d*** lord
u can go many different ways with that, especially if it takes place in modern day instead of the 80s

old stories should remain old stories
otherwise they lose their charm
one of the reasons movies like scarface, taxi driver and the warriors are classics is also the way they were shot and made and how directors used to work back then
the whole process of film making is different now
I remember watching Scarface the first time

It could be dope
but personaly speaking, I dont feel like watching another rags-to-riches-drug-dealer movie which we get like 30 of em every year (without mentioning the tv shows)
if they can give it a creative spin like Breaking Bad did with the ''chemistry teacher with cancer cooks meth'' or like The Wire did with showing us ''both sides of the coin'' then I aint fw it
Og not even that great
this. Feel asleep like two times tryna finish that s***
Og not even that great
Which one?
Stop touching classics!
The OG was a remake so this don't work

just like de palma and co. did to the original, they probably will keep the core plot points (rise of tony, kill boss and take wife, peak, kill friend for being involved with sister, downfall) and alter the rest. plenty of room for new stuff
