A lot of people love those threads, including me. A standalone Gossip SXN would be a good solution. I also think it would drive a lot of extra traffic to the site because if you search "ktt2.com" on twitter or reddit, 99% of the time it's someone linking a gossip thread like mgk pedo allegations or tyler being a groomer
I'm usually not against the thread topics
The titles/OPs are just always obnoxious and opinionated though
certainly some kind of limit regarding the new accounts making these threads. like we had some new account last week that just popped up, made like 5 s*** threads within a few days, and then got banned. i dont see why we need to allow that to happen
like if a 2023 account is made and then just instantly spams threads consistently of only a tweet, its just s***ting up the site with garbage. even worse when its gossip s*** like making a thread about an adin ross or blueface related tweet. If we wanna allow alts/new registrations that's one thing but a lot of these low effort new accounts are clearly alts of trash users imo
I'm not sure how effective it'll be to just implement a word count minimum, I'm not against it but I feel like we'll just have the same situation as now but users will just get around it by copypasting the tweet into the thread body or something.
There have been a lot of super low effort threads recently
Particularly involving just posting a tweet in order to create a level of engagement or to propagate a narrative without having to actually commit to a position yourself
How do people feel about these? Should we ban threads that just contain a tweet? Set a minimum word count for threads? Looking for input from the user base in how you guys want this stuff to be handled
Just add a 500 character count requirement for any twitter thread
yes, destroy activity on this forum even more
This the only sxn that doesn’t have day old threads on the front page 😂

i do report, a lot actually
crazy how little effect it actually has
I mean people come back dude there’s only so much we can do
But I get the reports straight into my notifications and I can tell you that they are being dealt with
I do think giving users feedback on actions taken from their report would be nice because I think a lot of people like you think that it’s not making a difference but I promise it is
This site was poppin for a while but for some reason it was locked for the second half of the pandemic and now the owner is gone and it’s dying a lame sad fart of a death

She's got at most one more month left in the tank for this account
don't do it
I’ve seen some threads where the title is reworded to the point where it’s just click bait (example the Chris brown Popeyes thread). I think that should be penalized
yeah this is a good point, ive seen threads where the OP is just lying with the title and the thread goes for pages and pages without being changed

This is so f***ing rude
It be the same niggas
Let’s be real here
Yup and the same ones instigating/baiting stan wars. Gotta start handing out mutes for that tbh

I once reported a guy making tasteless jokes about the Astroworld deaths 12 hours after it happened, nothing happened.
I once reported a guy wishing death upon me, nothing happened.
I once reported a thread providing valuable content in regards to weekly music releases asking for a sticky, nothing happened.
I think the report button may only be there for aesthetic purposes.

like it’s so cartoonish the way this site has gotten

Agreed just make it so new accounts need to be 3 months old to make a post, done

Plz ban Twitter threads in it's entirety
No offense to all the users that make em
But a lot of users creating threads like that are clearly lacking originality
And it's why we keep getting the same threads every week over and over again
Music sxn feels like it's been on an endless limbo for quite some time now
Ty for collecting input
I don't know, you guys seem to easily lock fun and popping threads. There are obvious bait threads that should easily be locked before anyone replies, but you can't automate this based on just what the OP has (i.e.: a twitter link). Some people make OPs that are literal nonsense and troll but they hide it behind a wall of text, which also limits activity
I try not to lock anything unless it’s blatantly become a thread about something else entirely (usually politics)
Agree that there isn’t an easy way to automate this but I just wanted to see how people generally feel about these kinda threads since the people disliking them are always gonna be most vocal
In the short term I think just doing case by case is the move and maybe sticky something encouraging opinion based tweets to have at least one sentence by the op
I do hear you though things here need work and hopefully that will come
