Was decent up until the ending. Thought it was too silly for the rest of the movie. Directors and writers I think are utilizing surrealism in such a lazy way nowadays, they use it to replace anything feeling real or complete. Its cheap and feels like its there just for some kind of shock value, it isnt heartfelt or meaningful or even fulfilling to the picture. I rolled my eyes when I first saw the trailer of her going hulk and I knew this was gonna be the end result, so honestly I can't even complain too much since I knew what I was in for in some way. But I would've prefered this to stay a bit more grounded as I think it would've benifit the movie more.

This surrealism was what made this average to amazing for me. But to each their own. It’s very jarring I can admit
This worth watching in theater?
It’s a fun little movie, I’d say go see it. Interesting seeing Dave Franco play against type and Kristen Stewart/Ed Harris kill it
Does anybody know the song that was playing when Jackie was solo onstage for the bodybuilding competition?
really enjoyed this. the theater I was in was engaged with the movie. cool to see audience audibly react to a neo-noir movie. ending was awesome.

only way to see it imo
feel like this would hit midly at home but banged in a crowded theatre

You were right. Glad I saw it
Just came from the theater...this may have unlocked a new kink for me lol. No but for real this was dope. I was kinda put off by the cartoonish hulk out stuff at first, but then I figured they were supposed to be metaphors for Jackie's feelings or something
First two acts were really great, but by the time the third act rolls around it feels very stretched thin. Also the ending lost me completely, just… strange lol. But not in a great way!
7/10

“Metaphor”
Really liked this
I thought Kristen Stewart was mostly believable as her character. Katy O’Brien as Jackie the standout performance for of the film for me. The soundtrack used throughout was fitting and added well to the vibe. The color grading at certain points was very cool very noir esque and the movie did well at adding some small bits of levity here and there
I will say however that there were certain points when I couldn’t tell whether the writing was just bad during some scenes like during Jackie’s call to her family(?) That “Don’t fall in love” line was super comical to me idk or if Kristin Stewart’s acting just kinda sucked during some scenes. Like during the fight Lou and Jackie have after she finds out Jackie slept with JJ and later when she’s delivering lines to her dad during their final scene I kinda got taken out of the movie and started laughing - I’m not sure if that was the response I was supposed to have
Overall I liked it would definitely watch it again
