I'm seeing so many Lakers fans saying things like "it's over, I'm out, face it we're done", etc. I get it, the last few years have been painful. Hard to watch. And this year has had so many gut-punch losses. They add up and take their toll. So maybe it's a defense mechanism to prophesize catastrophe; after all, you can't be disappointed if you expect disappointment. But damn, after everything you've endured, everything you've celebrated, from the horrible tragedies to championships and everything in between, you want to quit NOW?! A half-game back? Fans who watched Kobe wage war on his own physical limitations, night in and night out persevering and pushing himself despite the pain, standing strong in the face of mortality's ticking clock...it's those fans who want to call it quits in this moment of adversity? Out of fear because what? Failing hurts? You're better than that because you're stronger than that, we're stronger than that. Yes, it's going to hurt if the slide continues, but we do it together, just like we win together too.
