Ham said all the right things but if you’re the lakers you do everything you can to trade Westbrook. Yes our defense might improve. Yes we can win more games. Yes we can make the playoffs with Russ. But it’s still not the ideal fit you want if you want to compete with the top 5 teams. If you’re not contending for an immediate title then you might as well trade bron because he’s only getting older (im saying that sarcastically). Russ contract is atrocious and you’re better off trading his contract if you can improve your depth. You are capping the teams potential by not trading him. That’s the difference between a FO like the warriors and a FO like the lakers. The warriors traded DLO for a lesser talented but more complementary player like Wiggins. It’s given them the type of depth that is letting them compete even with klay struggling.
