Better game plan from Frank tonight.

Rockets hit 23' 3's and we still won

we need danny, kcp, rondo, and morris to keep contributing

    as well as kuzma

we need everyone to show up if the rockets hit like that

AD at the 5 is the answer and it always was

Small ball lakers >>>>>> two bigs

Just want Houston to advance so I never have to see two Laker bigs on the court at the same time again (at least until Clippers/Bucks series)

ehhhhh. the main advantage with two bigs is to limit the drive and kick opportunities, which shows because AD played more 5 and they beat us from three, but we were just better tonight so it wasn’t a problem

Wasn't an advantage at the start of today's 3rd quarter when Rocket's scored 10 straight points (6 of them off drive and kicks) since Vogel came out with McGee at center. It was so bad that he used a timeout two minuets in just to replace McGee w/ Kuz

They may have allowed more threes this game, but Lakers played 8 min with two bigs today and allowed 107 points in total. They played 20 min with two bigs last game and allowed 112 points.

But bigger than that is the 20 more points they scored today by playing smaller and with AD at center. The "2 big" 1st quarter defense was AMAZING today, but they couldn't string a scoring run together until McGee left the court.

Lakers are as good defensively with EITHER LINEUP (and can win games with either lineup). But they are significantly better offensively when small/AD at 5. So why not go with the one that gives you high level production on both ends?

mostly because Javale sucked and couldn’t move his feet, if it was Dwight at the start of the 3rd it wouldn’t have been that big of a run from Houston

there are advantages to both and it’s better to use the 2 bigs like we did at the start of the entire game when there’s no rhythm yet and the Rockets aren’t down double digits with motivation to take advantage of the mismatch

And if all our role players don’t collectively show up on offense then this is a different conversation, so there should almost always be a balance

(BTW i’ve always wanted Laker AD at center more than at the 4)

I can't speak on what would've happened with Dwight in there, but if Vogel's going to play either one of them I'd prefer Dwight for sure

Like I said the 1st quarter defense was amazing so I agree with you and don't mind them starting with 2 bigs. Also agree on finding the right balance.
I just think it often looks more favorable to tip those balance scales towards a smaller lineup.

Games 3, 4, & 5 will give us more insight tho. Always down for being wrong as long as they win lol

i’m telling you this team is built for any series

we’re really good at learning our opponent after a game or two

we did it with the clippers during the regular season too

smaller lineup helps us do what we do best on offense which is run, so they both have their advantages and i’d probably lean toward smaller as well.

Not really being wrong as long we’re winning
