Rafael Castro is a high-motor defender and shot-blocker (averaging 1.7 blocks and 1.8 steals as a senior at George Washington).

He's a good rebounder that's great in weak-side help defense, drop coverage, and switching onto the perimeter.

He's one of the centers that I wanted on a two way.

If Castro plays well and fits with Luka, it might be worth it to get him a two way contract and waive AK Okereke.

No point having OKereke if you have Arthur Kaluma. Lakers already have a bunch of forwards.

JJ Redick said “we’ll see” on if Walker Kessler will make his debut against the Warriors on Tuesday.

Kessler participated in practice today but didn’t take part in live action.

Redick said he might return to scrimmaging tomorrow.

JJ Redick said Collin Sexton was a modified participant in practice today — no scrimmaging — and is day-to-day.

When asked for specifics on Sexton’s injury, Redick said Sexton is dealing with a “lower leg injury.”

Ziaire Williams is dealing with a foot contusion.

Arthur Kaluma returned to practice.

JJ Redick on if Walker Kessler will be able to play on Tuesday:

"I would say we're not committed to that. He definitely, he was in practice today.

No live today but he did everything else. So he was in for about half of practice.

We'll see tomorrow if he can do live and we'll see Monday.

We'll probably do some live Monday but more of a teaching day and a film day. So we'll see. I can't commit to that now."

On what he has not been able to do in practice:

"Just live. He was a live participant initially and then we were doing a drill and he hit his finger on the backboard."

Is this just out of caution, would he be playing if it was the regular season?

"Yeah, he's fine."

Walker Kessler participated in live play during practice on Sunday, per JJ Redick.

Redick, like Saturday, is not committing to Kessler playing in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Walker Kessler said he’s trusting the coaching staff/training staff’s plan, but he’s still quite hungry to get back on the court for in-game action:

“I think it'd be a little different if I played last season, but because I didn't play last season, … I want to play really bad.”
