Pelinka opens the presser by saying he wants to express "gratitude" for the LeBron James era.

Says that Lakers got news from LeBron and Rich that he was going to choose another team and went to work on 3 priorities:

• re-sign AR
• franchise center
• younger dribble-pass-shoot players

Pelinka on LeBron: "I thought it would be appropriate at the front to express gratitude for the LeBron era here.

Clearly, new team and new players, and that's what we're going to talk about today.

But we as an organization are still grateful for the run that we had with him here."

JJ Redick said Walker Kessler is a “perfect fit” next to Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves based on his defense, rebounding and finishing.

He also notes LA has had to switch out of necessity over the past two seasons, and that they want to keep Kessler near the rim defensively.

JJ Redick said “there are a lot of minutes” and “starting spots” up for grabs in Lakers training camp.

Rob Pelinka says he's had introductory meetings with Josh Kushner and Bob Iger despite the sale not being finalized.

He said day-to-day operations haven't been affected and praised the team's front office buildout

Rob Pelinka said he wanted to “co-create” with JJ Redick and Luka Doncic on this roster this summer. He noted that while he has to make the final decisions, he wanted their input in helping make those choices.

Rob Pelinka called Luka Doncic the "world's greatest offensive player."

Rob Pelinka says the team has added more than 15 people to their front office staff this offseason.

JJ Redick says Adou Thiero has had an "unbelievable two months of development" since Summer League.

Rob Pelinka said the Lakers will be adding more scouts under new assistant GM Eric Amsler.

JJ Redick says he played 72 holes of golf in 48 hours with Luka Doncic this summer and he was especially impressed with the thought and leadership Doncic put into hosting the team in Slovenia.

Redick says back in LA, the leader has been Austin Reaves during pickup games.

JJ Redick: "The best teams are the most connected teams ... I really believe this team will be connected from Day 1 and they already are."

Rob Pelinka said that one anecdote that really struck him from the player minicamp that Luka Doncic hosted in Slovenia was all of the players taking the time to present Doncic with hand-written thank you notes for the time and resources he committed to make it happen.

Rob Pelinka: "I think building a championship roster is an evergreen process.

You're never done with the work, you're never satisfied, you're always looking to add more."

Rob Pelinka acknowledged that the Lakers were not going to fill every need this offseason.

"We feel like the major ones, we did, and the work continues."

Rob Pelinka says that Lakers rookie Cameron Carr is an "extraordinary talent" and has already showed some chemistry playing on the same team with Luka Doncic during pickup runs

JJ Redick: "We've got six or seven wings that will have an opportunity to play. We're gonna play more guys this year. We're just naturally deeper."

Redick added that Cameron Carr will be among those vying for opportunities in the rotation.

JJ Redick on Cameron Carr:

"Where he was on our board, he was not 24th. He was much higher. We were very happy to get Cam.

Pelinka says Luka was looking for Cameron Carr in pickup as he was hitting corner 3s and catching lobs."

JJ Redick said “the market is the market” on the Lakers giving out so many multi-years deals this summer.
