JJ Redick said the Lakers don’t have any statistical marks they’re trying to hit as a team outside of the goal of being both a top 10 offense and defense.

He said each player has individual statistical marks that they’re each working on with the coaching & player development staff.

He added that he could add team-specific statistical marks during the season depending on how things develop.

JJ Redick notes that the Lakers got destroyed in the possession battle tonight, specifically with offensive rebounds and turnovers.

"We got destroyed in the possession battle," JJ Redick said. Mentioned the size deficit....."I think there was a lot of good stuff that we did." Said he was going to judge the team on organization, talk and competition level. Said they did well competing.

Redick said "Max is an old soul. He's wise and he's mature and he takes this very seriously. And I really appreciate that about him."

Redick said the Lakers are really happy with Bronny James' progress and says he can do some things defensively at his size that are unique. Said we saw some of that. Said Bronny is still trying to figure out things on the offensive end. Said he's been "so easy to coach."

JJ Redick said the coaching staff decided to give Bronny James a shot at minutes Friday after a strong three days of training camp. While Redick acknowledged the continued growth the 19-year-old rookie needs, Redick said how much he enjoys coaching him: “I’m rooting for him”.
