Sam Amick: Dejounte Murray to LAL has ā€œvery real legs.ā€ They have locked in on him as their primary target and have separated themselves from everyone else in acquiring him.

He def tries out there so gotta give him credit but the fact that Ham expects him to guard guys like Harden, PG, or Kawhi on a continual basis throughout the span of a game is comedy

Jovan Buha on potential Murray trade:

"Brooklyn, Charlotte, Washington. Detroit and San Antonio also could get involved. It has to be a team willing to take on some bad money, likely a lottery team, that’ll look to recoup assets from the Lakers in the form of a second-round pick or two or a future pick swap.

They don’t have another first to trade because it would go to Atlanta in the potential framework of this deal. Right now, this is what the Lakers are trying to figure out.

Who can be that third team, what do they have to add to the deal, and are they comfortable with that?"

Lauri Markkanen instead of Trae Young should be the target. The league is about size now. Teams don’t win in the playoffs with little guards, this isn’t the old days of warriors.

Lauri for Austin Reaves, JHS, 2 first round picks is worth it. I would hate to see Reaves go but I would pull the trigger. Jazz get a white star for their fan base , and tank for a year or two. Danny ainge is about getting assets

    Lauri / Wood
    AD / Prince or Vandy
    Lebron / Rui
    Christie / Cam
    DLo / Vincent

We would be set. Could also trade for a vet PG and slide DLO to SG. Lauri AD Lebron front line wool bully people and be nasty

"There was talk about whether Lauri Markkanen would go somewhere? I think that was more wishful thinking from rival executives. He’s likely going to do a renegotiation-and-extension"

Michael Scotto on Gabe Vincent's value:

"Gabe Vincent is definitely viewed as a negative asset right now around the league because he’s been hurt, and he hasn’t been able to show if he can fit with the Lakers or not.

There’s also always the stigma that Miami Heat role players are not as good elsewhere, with the exception of Max Strus and the way he’s played for Cleveland."

Michael Scotto on other teams interest in Murray:

"I’ve touched on the Knicks as another team that was in the hunt for Murray. That has cooled off. New York currently feels the asking price for Murray is a bit too high right now.

It’s one thing for a first-round pick, the expiring contract of Evan Fournier and Quentin Grimes. That package has been kicked around. But that extra first-round pick Atlanta is looking for hasn’t been something that New York has an appetite to move at this point."

"The Lakers don’t want LeBron to do everything on offense, and rely less on him as a creator. They want to support him by making his life easier. Which is why the they continue to look at point guards like Tyus, Dennis, and Murray."

Darvin Ham points to Taurean Prince’s durability and 3-point shooting, as well as Jarred Vanderbilt’s health, as the primary reasons he hasn’t used the team’s starting lineup from last season — D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Vanderbilt, LeBron James and Anthony Davis — more.
