Wonder what a ad-wood-vando-bron-reaves lineup could do

great size, great rebounding, more than solid enough shooting, enough playmaking, and a good wing defender

funny enough, this lineup has been on the court only twice for 4 minutes

even if this could be the starting lineup (it won’t be, because Ham) it’s definitely a lineup that should get more minutes together consistently. We threw out lineups last night that showed how big, physical and versatile we can be and that’s where we get the most success i think

he needs to get more minutes, thats why i suggested that lineup above. hes literally a 20-10 talent that we're not playing enough

he should be the first big off the bench

i dont even want it to be the starting group, i just wanna see that lineup get time together because i think it could be one of the our best 5 man lineups. aint gonna happen though

What about DLo Vincent future 2nd for PG Rozier, C Richard

DLO a loser . Rozier can attack the rim, guards PGS and create plays. Richard is a solid big

Isn’t the thing with Vando not starting right now is because of he’s coming off an injury?

No doubt you would prefer Vando to start but currently he started the season on a minutes restrictions and gradually working his way up
    In minutes.

And with a Lebron led team, you always want a spot up shooter like Prince on the floor, regardless. And It just happens to be Prince.

Throw in the best lineup ever and there always going to one player that struggles, etc. and if you got him guarding their best player occasionally, he’s going to get cooked

AR can very easily fill a spot up shooter role in a lineup with both DLo and Lebron because he’s not the other sole creator anymore. Not that that’s all he’d be doing, but that notion is less important once D’Lo is starting again

What you're saying is true and I see why Ham put him in the starting lineup. But the main issue is that he gets too many mins.

Heres how him getting too many hurts the Lakers

    1. He's not a good offball defender

If you watch him closely, he falls asleep and is late to close out on his man often.

He's not gonna give you the hustle plays and energy like Vando and those are the things that can turn a game around. Last game is a perfect example of this.

    2. He doesn't attempt enough 3s to warrant his minutes

DLO and Reaves are not that quick and have trouble blowing past their defenders. Lebron is also older and can't break down an opponents defense like he use to. So Prince doesn't get that many open looks from 3.

Ham and the coaching staff also don't run enough plays for him.

Ham has him out there for 30+ mins. So if he's not shooting 3s, he's just doing cardio for most of the game.

    3. Boxing out and Rebound

He doesn't box out and is a poor rebounder. So teams get alot of second chance points and Lakers are constantly outrebounded.

It's not Prince's fault. Most of this is on Ham.

All he needs to do is play Prince less and give some of those minutes to Rui, Vando or even Wood.

Prince is a role player and has been most of his career. He shouldn't be playing this much and guarding the best player on the opposing team.

Vando has been better as of late since they stopped sticking him in the corner as much. he’s actually a good passer and shoot be used in the short roll much more

    Exactly this

Ham can also use Vando more as a screener and get guys open.

That's the best way to to maximize his time on the court offensively

    We don't see that enough.

Lakers shouldn't be a bottom 10 offense. It's mostly coaching.

  • Jan 17, 2024

We had the best record post all star break last year and made it to WCF with Vando doing stuff like this.

Give Vando more minutes. Also go big and play Rui or Wood more. Ham shouldn't overthink this.

Darvin Ham liked what he saw from the 9-man rotation against OKC on Monday. Can expect some continuity with that going into the Mavs game.

Lakers are going in assuming Luka Doncic (listed as questionable after missing the last 3 games) will play, but no official update there yet.
