The Lakers have interest in using D'Angelo Russell as part of a sign-and-trade deal for Fred VanVleet.

@MadVillain I ask you again, d Lo or FVV?

Don’t want FVV, he’s even worse than D Lo. Rather trade D Lo for a couple good rotation players

  • May 31, 2023

Stanley Johnson should be brought back for the minimum. Could have used him against Jamal Murray

I think we run it back with the same roster

Keep: Rui, Reaves, Lonnie, Dennis, Mo, Vandy

    Obviously keep Lebron, AD

If they take minimum bring back: Brown, Gabriel , Thompson

    Develop Max

Only thing I would add- Try to flip DLO for a center or or Kyrie…. I think DLO is not a title player. He don’t play defense. Remember ham was saying he didn’t want to get bench. On a contender, you need to do whatever

Hit on that 17 pick. Maybe add a ring chaser or two . Run it back

    Beasley gone too

Keeping both Lonnie and Dennis is gonna be hard unless they take a paycut.

We're most likely keeping DLO. Kyrie already told Mavs he plans on staying and Mavs are not gonna trade him for DLO, especially after his playoff performance.

DLO will get extended and maybe we can flip him later if the right deal comes.

We could pick up Beasley's option. If we don't find a good deal for Beasley and the 17th pick, he's also staying.

If Beasley or Mo Bamba goes in a trade, that 17th pick is most likely gone with it since teams are gonna want assets for an expiring contract.

This is the salary we will have:

    Lebron: $46,900,000

    AD: $40,600,080

Vando: $4,698,000 (Team option; Lakers have said they're picking it up)

    Max: $1,719,864

Reaves: $12,000,000 (Restricted free agent; assuming no one offers anything crazy)

Rui: $15,000,000 (Restricted free agent; assuming no one offers anything crazy)

    17th pick: $3,000,000

    Total: $124,000,000 (estimate)

    2023 Projected Salary Cap: $134,000,000

Hard Cap: $169,000,00 (Anything over this, you get tax)

New Super Tax (From new CBA): $179,500,00 (Anything over this, you lose all of your exceptions and Jeanie will faint)

Exceptions allow you to spend money even if you're over the $134,000,000.
As long as Lakers don't go over $179,000,000 they can use their:

Midlevel exception: $12,000,000 (using this will automatically have you hard cap. This is only for teams slightly above the cap but below the tax)

Bi annual exception: $4,400,000 (Can use this every other year; Lakers have one this year; using this will automatically have you hard cap; This is only for teams slightly above the cap but below the tax)

Taxpayer level exception: $5,000,000 (this was initially $7,000,000 and what Lonnie was on;)

Room exception: $7,600,000 (This is when you reach the $134,000,000. You can go over it alittle.)

Vet minimum exception: about $1 million (Can be used after you're over the cap).

If DLO gets a 2 year/ $40 million extension ($20 million per year), then we're already over the cap at around $144,000,000.
and we'll have to use our mid level and bi annual exceptions ($16,0000,000).

We can split that on two players and spend the rest of the money on 4 vet min guys to fill out a roster (can't go over 169,000,000 hard cap).

(All of this is assuming we don't pick up Malik Beasley and Mo Bamba's team option)

Agree with you. No point in getting FVV for DLO, which would hard cap us.

I don't know any other team that will do a sign and trade for DLO besides the Mavs and the Raptors.

We might be stuck with him this season, which I wouldn't mind.

We draft so good and it as great draft class…..

I heard Bobby portis wants to reunite with Ham

I would bring back Tristan for the minimum. Ham should have used him

Heat doing so well should be a lesson. Let the Buss bros cook a little instead of signing a bunch of washed up vets

Stanley should be brought back. He would be a perfect defensive guard to bring in.

I think Rui, Reaves , Lonnie are brought back

I think Dennis leaves for money. I think Beasley is gone, hopefully for a future pick. DLO might be gone

Lonnie more than likely played himself into a new contract that the Lakers won’t want to pay

I really want to keep Lonnie. His athletic ability is nice on this roster. But I can us letting him walk. I want to keep

  • Jun 2, 2023

The way I see the roster

    C- Mo,
    PF- AD, Vandy
    SF- Lebron, Rui
    G- Reaves, Maxx
    G- ???????, Dennis

No way we let Rui or Reaves leave. I think Rui will be the 6th man and start games where Lebron sits. Lebron will pace himself even more next year. I think AD will play more 4 next year. I like when we play big. I’m not giving up on MO Bamba. Every center who plays with Lebron has a career year. Look at his history. Would be stupid to get rid of Mo right before his stock explodes. I think Dennis will get a fair deal to be a key depth piece and defender on points. Reaves can play either guard spot. I think DLO is looking for the money , so that might create a hole. I want lonnie but he might be gone.

I been doing some research, there’s a ton of good swingman in this years draft. We are going be able to draft another big swing man who can be a key 3 and d player. Lively is a good prospect. We need another center
