Are you sure about that? I’m not denying it but I doubt it. Artists like Billie Eilish or even Olivia Rodrigo seem to have a precisely defined artistic direction. And clearly, most of the time, artistic direction in pop music isn’t used to support a precise artistic vision but to appeal to certain target demographics.

main issue with this song is Jack Antonoff is really starting to recycle his sounds but its still a cutesy pop song with nice summer vibe. If the album sounds like the last St Vincent album but with different signer then i don't know
but people complaining because its not melodrama sounding. It will eventually grow on them

Nah but really, I think that’s the kind of concept she would love to do. It would be interesting to subvert expectations like that, you know. Or just have her realize by the end of the album that this whole hippie thing was a coping mechanism.
