I honestly think that hurts your point more, a victory lap album makes me think of something like WTT, a less monumental effort that comes soon after a big hit with acclaim

Waiting 4 years to release an album after your widely-acclaimed masterpiece just sounds like releasing an album, and I can't blame anyone for having higher expectations about how ambitious this project would be, it's like if Kanye released Ye after LR

I don’t think her singing/vocals were THE problem

I mean I’ve been listening to Sufjan Stevens music my entire life and never once had the same complaints and he has countless of these really chill, stripped back tracks. It’s not the issue but it certainly doesn’t help if you don’t have an incredible voice.

I think thats exactly the thing people miss in this album but this has something to do on how much knowledge people have on the predicament humanity is facing. The Album can be interpreted differently depending how much you think of her as a person. I belive she someone who is aware and that's why she has been away for so long and went on a journey to see nature.
