it's crazy cause i figured that would be a pretty straightforward, relatable line. like yeah i don't listen to wiz khalifa and juicy j mixtapes on the reg like i used to in high school. that seems really valid to me but idk i might be buggin lol.
F*** no baby
“All the music you loved at 16 you’ll grow out of”
Bro Blonde Melodrama Flower Boy Atrocity Exhibition etc dropped when I was 16
You know a semblance of what my taste is I am NOT digging this direction
It ain’t BAD, but it’s not for me

so 16 wasn't very long ago for you. and it wasn't for her either. the song is clearly prospecting on future days, whenever the time comes for someone individually. she just might have gotten to that stage a little earlier.

Im always gonna f*** with Blonde and Melodrama you damn fool
but let me stop before i'm "caping" or something
i'm not thrilled by the song but for the thread to become entirely about that line is wild lmaooo reminds me of when Billie dropped Lost Cause

ok and i plan to as well. but can you think of one or two albums that you loved at 16 that you maybe necessarily won't bang like that at 36? is that completely unfathomable. like i don't get it. lol

No I have great taste she need to speak for herself

yeah i can't discuss s*** on here. you got it
That 16 line is really not sitting well with me because not only does that foreshadow the whole album sounding like this, but it almost points to her previous stuff with EDM and Hip-hop influences being childish and not her true self
In true white woman vulture fashion
Her making my heel turn against her easier >>>>>>
Jack is such a disease to modern Pop lol I’m so sick of this regressive ass music
I like this one a lot more than solar power (which I honestly do not like much at all)
I dig the slower vibe but I hope she does manage to pull out a few bops while staying true to this new direction
maybe something like this clairo song:

not like exactly the same song but I think this does a good job of blurring the line between new/familiar music for her

I gave her a chance and that's the only song I liked. Only listened to this new album though.
I love seeing the progression throughout Lana and Lorde's careers and how they insert the stages of their real lives in these songs. Jack Antonoff bringing these pop stars back down to earth
