It's ironic the man drops his retirement album and less then a month after he already teases new music

he retired from "the rap game"

this album and this
decision could change music

if other artists do the same
which is why it's not funny

in the slightest to me

So when he says he is retiring and it’s time to be a great father that means he’s just quitting rap music

He said what he said and it’s hilarious that he’s already coming back from this decision. It’s the same “retirement” we saw a zillion times. The fact he’s doing it in a month from his latest album is even more laughable

i think you're missing the point

releasing "albums" is really not advantageous for artists anymore

yes, he "retired"

but like anybody that loves hip hop

he never stopped making music

he's just free to put it out
however and whenever he wants now

this is different than say Jay retiring and then coming back

or most other rappers

can you imagine if somebody like Drake stopped putting albums out through the major label system?

First and foremost, the album was dope and he should do whatever he feels like. I honestly couldn’t sleep less over it. But he called it a retirement, not me. So its been a promo gimmick to call it a retirement or he changed his mind pretty quick. Either way it’s still funny to me.

I understand he’s able to get more money and maybe have more creative freedom when he’s independent. But I honestly don’t think it’s going to increase his fanbase and thus the bag. But I would love to be wrong here.

so him having creative control
could only lead to more good things

now that his fans don't have to suffer
through the albums he was suffering through

EDIT: to go along with the acting and other business ventures he's about to get popping

he is a number one selling author

and he's got more books on the way

Maybe I’m just a dusthead. But his fanbase has to be pretty hardcore to get him wealthy without the press promo from a label. And how’s that core going to increase without that marketing. It could work really well but I wonder if that money is on the same level as when he’s signed to Def Jam.

well that's why the twitch deal was so important

he has this whole platform to share himself truly

the reason he's so successful is because he has one of the best fan bases of any artist

and i know a lot of people want to feel that sense of community so i have no doubts that he has picked up new fans

and will continue to do so

plus this "retirement album" being good certainly got some new eyes on him

that's all i'm saying

i'm just very hopeful for the future
