She kinda did what Gabriel Iglesias did and just brought up her size all the time and made that the forefront of her identity. Like that's basically why she's relevant. For the aforementioned, they never hid it and totally owned it but just didn't like constantly center their public images around it while never downplaying it either. It just came across as authentic confidence, whereas Lizzo's always seemed bizarrely insecure about her appearance to the point where it was kind of unnerving following her as a public figure. Something just felt uneasy.
She claimed it so hard because the inclusion angle of her act was always her biggest selling point, due to her actual talents being meager compared to her success.
