no LB to replace robbo is crazy. CB to replace vvd for the future would be obviously nice but highly doubt that’s happening with all the needs that will be higher on the list this summer (+ there’s already Jacquet coming in to bolster the CB position so I highly doubt there will be more movement unless Gomez leaves). and good f***ing luck with gakpo as a backup 9 if you want to rely on gakpo as your main striker when isak picks up an (likely inevitable) injury. i’d kms if i had to watch him as our main striker for a larger portion of the season. market opportunities have to be explored fs (toney & schick sound p good to me). szobo on RB is just a waste honestly but probably gonna have to do one more season of that when the need comes, guess i’m okay with that.

you’re totally right about the 9’s part however i fear i just can’t do it with gakpo as the main man if isak is unavailable. will be just suffering every game it happens. but yeah unfortunately i believe that what you said gonna be the case for the season, unless isak picks up an injury or gakpo has some crazy stinkers in august. surely has to be someone experienced who we can bring on a year-long loan (or permanent on like a 2-year contract cause honestly god knows how soon eki will be fully fit, if ever the same). i’m thinking jackson-type situation just like bayern did this season (was a reliable backup for kane for the season and cost them like 15 mil, baited them into that clause even though everyone knew they were never gonna pay it). toney would be incredible - think he’d be down for like a 2-year contract too since it’s liverpool (idk how the saudis would be open to a year-long loan, guess not too much but i wish it could be another duran type situation with a loan from saudis). need to get this idea to toney’s head to force a move like this out lol. schick for 2 years could make sense too but would be way more difficult to lure him out of bayer imo + quite injury prone. just think we have to bring someone in for the season (or 2 if there’s no other option), begging for it honestly.
