konate is a monster who wins duels in the channels and can defend out wide so well. guehi just doesnt move me like dat outside him being good just not great. if guehi was laporte/upa/cubarsi/huijsen levels on the ball calm but he isnt

but nowhere near as good as konate off the ball. konate was our best cb this season for me cleaning up after trent. he goes madrid we help them too much cos he was our best player in the 2022 final

Konate is a duel monster yes, but are we sure Arne wants that? We lost a lot of progressing passing with Trent, are we trying to get that from a CB who isnt Virgil? Lukeba is great at the pass between the lines.

Frimpong is a carrier, and Kerkez is the same.

konate can break lines via carrying the ball like matip. the guy does too much off the ball for us and we saw what happened last szn against ipswich first game. konate is ying and yang u cant have a cb who isnt aggressive. guehi doesnt break lines even that well compared to guys like huijsen, pau torres or whoever else

How many carriers you want?

We need the progression in passing too. And we lost that with trent(granted his progression was to much at times) we need one who can progress the ball from deep now. If you wont get that from Guehi, then get Lukeba. But Lukeba is 30-40m more than Guehi. And if Guehi is okay with being third choice, he would be the best third choice we could get

we can mitigate that with a deep lying playmaker like stiller or wharton. lukeba isnt all that ibr hes alright but he aint no huijsen. frimpong short passing is good and kerkez is a good line breaker as well. just run the build up thru the fullbacks
