When this country was form slavery wasn’t illegal and only land owning white men were in charge.
A lot of the founding fathers didn’t really agree with slavery but they still choose to do nothing about it and even participated in it, even tho they could have with the amount of influence they had
The only way to end this is to change the whole system up and rebuild a new country imo
The thing is, there was so little information back then that they saw a person with a different color of skin and the first thought was that this person was completely different from themself.
I still have some hope that things can be reformed to a point where black people are protected in the same way as the founding fathers intended “all” people to be, but that also may be hopeless optimism.
