The issue of cities giving so many hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars to police departments while their other social programs are underfunded is becoming clearer and clearer every day

I never understood the point of giving them that much money. It really shouldn't cost that much to support the police department in any city. MAYBE a place like LA or NYCN or Chicago, but even then that's a huge stretch

It's like we fund the military to go beat people and countries down abroad, then we over-fund the police with ridiculous gear to beat us down here

It's about domination and force because you know they don't have the intellectual or rhetorical advantage

I've noticed this in univ. the past few years more and more, and u can see it in the protests too.
