I found this out bc 2-4 years ago there was a story I read about cops harassing a group of teens before telling all but one to go. They detained the one, raped her, and then let her go. Obviously she tried to go about getting justice but the cops claimed that she (15yrs old if iirc) consented.

Defunding policing isn’t that and your interpretation is horrible at best. He could’ve said I’d propose a fair budget that isn’t going to punitive measures like policing and say it’s going to more preventative acts like mental health, school, jobs programs etc that actually lowers crime.
He could’ve said all of that without actually saying defunding the police and get to the heart of the matter so ppl like yourself wouldn’t confuse him with some anti-police sentiment.
