    Need to disband police union(s)

Need to remove their immunity and subject them to being able to be fairly judged by the law,

I don’t know what’s going to be enough. From this run of protests and uprising.

The damage has already been done so much to where I’m confused about what the full end goal is, maybe that’s impossible.

Some people would say equity through a form of socialism and I don’t necessarily disagree but people have different definitions of that word so

Let’s ask for too much then. Actually too much leads to extremes most people wouldn’t be ready for

honestly the only way you can destroy racism is with education because no one is born racist but its ingrained from young age from schooling and family values

i would love to see the school system talk about things like slave trade or looting of African artifacts (which now probs reside in some British museum) and get black speakers to show the inequality.

  • First night in a week I won’t be up till 3am watching the stream.

It’s been exhausting and I can’t imagine what it’s like being on the front lines, actively fighting for this daily.

    Thank you essential protestors

Just need to be thoughtful and ask the question of: are we ready to subject ourselves and the country to such a process of change that may have negative side effects as well

public schools need more funding and should be teaching the type and depth of black history that most don't learn until college or grad school

Probably already mentioned itt, but California and Minnesota are going to restrict cops from using chokeholds

I’m not confident one can destroy racism but I agree education and legislation preventing institutional racism amongst other things.

what exactly would be the negative side effects? the time period between now and when everything is fixed is one

Even with education, you’ll have many racist families turning their kids racist regardless. This is a generational issue

The racist right would just blame PC culture for all this pandering they're "forced to endure at school".

Idk the solution for ending racism, but I kind of doubt education is the answer because that requires the party you intend to educate listening earnestly and favoring intellectual honesty over their own implicit bias

i think change may need to be forced but progress at a pace. like you said, lets ask for it all and just prioritize for the more important ones to come earlier

America needs to face and deal with it's history of racism and classism

it really is. IDK if we could ever completely eradicate racism, but we could put laws and regulations in place to significantly reduce the amount of racist actions performed against us

Black history is American history, human history, world history.

I spent so much time in grade school learning about old white men id forget about because it wasn’t very compelling.

Maybe it’s just hard to have a depth of understanding of history at a young age cause there’s so much.

People will refuse to admit to it because it’ll disturb the life they’ve built.

I don’t think we ready yet, but it’s coming. We need to feel a lil more dose of oppression and it’s on and popping.

I was the same. I didn't care about school like that and history was the least compelling. Especially when civil right, segregation and slavery are the talking points about the people you relate to the most

at my school the only time they talked about black history was slavery. and yes history is always my worst class cuz it's not compelling.

And that post is not to disregard black Europeans or people form elsewhere, i just know less about black history in Europe besides general basics and the impact colonialism had on bringing more black ppl to European countries (France primarily)

The system is not going to teach you how to rebel. If they taught you that then it wouldn’t really be rebellion would it

Exactly. that's why I do agree that education is a way to combat, not a cure but it's definitely a good solution. A lot of racism is ignorance, like with homophobia and such.

It's gonna be a long ass list though yall lol
