Also, on another note: a lot of the mainstream news is too busy being shot with rubber coated bullets and tear gas canisters, pepper balls et cetera by the cops

People have no idea what they're talking about yet are trying to come off strong as f*** like they the man or some s***

Absolutely. Emotions are riding high, people are gonna talk a big talk. I'm guilty of that.

I'm still trying to contemplate what will allow for the most positive change out of this situation.

We're all sharing ideas in here and trying to make sure we have the right info, keeping track of things, asking questions and what we all think

These people protesting in the streets treat people like trash much less non-whites. I don't trust them, they've never asked me s***

The ammount of comparisons to the civil rights movement are insane. We are not them they are not us. We have to acknowledge that on some level those people failed if we are to succeed

I think a segment of people going out, are expressing anger and don't know how to best get it out in the right way, the most effective way.

Like it could be going peacefully, and somebody triggers a panic or something

But a lot of the times, the cops are so trigger happy with the rubber bullets pepper spray tear gas...

I don't know if it was in Seattle or NY where they popped like 4 different tear gas canisters all over a crowd that wasn't even aggressive its like they're ready to beat the people into submission.

But thats my perspective and u got yours so

Everytime I have hoped people would do the right thing under pressure they failed and im putting the work to make up for it. And now im supposed to believe they had an awakening and I'm a****** for not recognizing it.

I definitely don't consider the Civil Rights movement a failure,

Not all of the goals were accomplished perfectly, but too much progress was made to say what u said imo

this country went from slavery to sharecropping to segregation to the civil rights act being passed and then a black president in 2008,

U can't tell me the civil rights failed, on that last point alone, its too strong.

Now is all of this s*** mostly an illusion? yes. The powers that be control a lot of this s*** and feed us messages and what not.

I'm writing 4 too long on this post so ima let it fly

George floyd is dead. The goals of civil right in the 60s are not meant. We have to call it in part a failure if we care about life. Im more concerned with people trying to relive those moments, we have to reach higher than those moments. Why do we need to compare ourselves

Don't be discouraged. Be curious and proud of the knowledge you gain. It itself moves us closer to freedom. We can fail now and still win
