I think there need to be laws that require a certain amount of police budget to go to salary instead of riot equipment, tanks, etc. This way you're able to demilitarize and also hopefully attract people who are capable of performing the job.

It's the same concept that people bring up with teachers. If you pay them low wages you're gonna get s***ty teachers. I think cops should make more but only at the expense of their own administrative and equipment budgets.

NewsOne (Black people in America) + Indian Country Today (U.S. Native Americans) are pretty important for getting news and information on communities that don't get the same coverage on other outlets.

PBS, AP & Reuters are less opinion based and just report the information without much personal bias. The latter does take out ads and s*** trying to promote candidates but the actual news info that they report is fine.
