for what it's worth i don't believe the reforms i mentioned are truly possible without a complete upheaval of the capitalist state and the thing with revolution in America (speaking purely of a communist one) is that they are the #1 participant in attempting to quell and destroy communism in other nations, particularly ones much less developed than America, so they can indiscriminately invade and bomb in the name of "defending people" which will make their resistance at home, if the beginning of a revolution were to occur, very strong and very violent but if the proletariat were to establish a dictatorship, who exactly do you think, outside of those still opposed within America itself, would have the power to do something?
You're right, and I'm not trying to defend the US's influence abroad. But the US isn't the sole purveyor of imperialism nor capitalism, even if it is often the worst. In the modern age liberal capitalism is a widespread pervasive force. Realistically in the modern age you'd need either a global uprising rather than a localized american one, or you'd need a full-on destruction of post-industrial means (I believe this is something even Engels himself wrote). I will also say that I would not make the mistake of assuming the proletariat is solely on the side of revolutionaries. I said this in another thread, but most of the most influential actual fascist regimes in history came from counter-revolutions because of the proletariat siding with counter-revolutionary governments and that accentuation of proletariat next to existing government ended with the opposition more powerful than the revolutionaries.
