i'm honestly sick of this new hashtag or whatever f***in trend this is - it feels like its another form of thoughts & prayers. A new way for us normies to feel like w'ere apart of the movement while we're on our couch in our luxury apartments, where we should have boots on the ground.

    It in itself is fine

But alot of people post on social media, feel good, then don't actually donate/protest/call

I realize everyone can't protest, but you need to be helping by donating or calling your local and state gov to

Posting on social media alone is just a bunch of smoke and mirrors

off the top of my head didnt he say

"tired of seein black kids on the face of fox and f*** cnn they dont wanna see us win"

and then "pray for those who lost their fate and died to young"

"i cant take no more of the white powers in position"

One of my homegirls hopped on Facebook live from Lake Harriet yesterday talking about there was a white supremacist walking around with a gun harassing folks (Minneapolis). She was out there with her family and kids and he followed them to their car when they tried to leave. Be careful out there even if you aren't at a protest people are crazy.

I’m all in for blackout Tuesday but why can’t we stream music or YouTube?

Industries that prey on black artists. Music labels haven't said s*** at all

I somewhat agree with this, but you also have to understand that not everyone can be boots on the ground. And that’s not the only way to help. Spreading information, donating, supplying protesters are ways to help. Some people might not be able to go out because they physically can’t, they have health issues (because we are still under a global health crisis), or there is no organized rallies near them. You might say that they should be the ones to organize and I get that, but not everyone has that drive.

To me, if you want to participate in the hashtag but don’t provide any resources for others to help, then don’t post. Provide resources, show solidarity, and help the cause.

brah I live in the NYC area, I KNOW these people on my time line can attend a protest if they had the drive to. They just doin this s*** for the gram.

To anyone hating on the blackouttuesday, I hope I can explain another view for this. I live in a very small country in Europe (most US cities have bigger population). Our media started to cover the first information about these protest since last Thursday and they started to make headlines on Saturday. Meaning a lot of people are out of touch or vaguely informed about the whole events going on. Talking to my coworkers, most of them are out of touch and do not even know the whole background which has lead to this.

So whenever I saw someone from where I live use the tag and at least post the picture, I feel they're somewhat more informed about the protests, what do they mean, what do they want to achieve and so on. The most we can do from far away is to spread awareness, give out information and keep the topic active.

Wish you all the best pursuing freedom and justice.

Don’t have to talk s*** about em. It is crazy what’s going on and honestly. Sadly this is the effect of corrupt cops doing injustices.

Those black squares make me sick, I get the point but many just post them to act as if they care. Why not use the post to share some useful thoughts, pictures or videos instead of just flooding the hashtags and technically muting the protesters
