All these other nations protesting is really comforting. In 2015 this felt like such a distinctly American problem, like the rest of the world looked on in confusion and annoyance.

I think this issue has gone on for so long and it's had time to marinate, so it's being accepted as a common and insidious problem that needs to end.

On top of that, honestly? I think COVID-19 made the world a little smaller for a while. I know I was checking up on the day to day lives of countries I hadn't thought about very often. We're all citizens of the world and we've all had a really s***ty year.
