Gardner TWICE was involved in gun-related incidents - in 2013, he failed to tell officers he had a concealed handgun. He was originally picked up for assault and battery; the gun charge was dropped in a plea deal for a $200 fine. This was AFTER he was charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit in 2011, pulled over for reckless driving — also just a $200 fee.

If our justice system worked, he would have lost his rights to f***ing own a gun, much less ever have a carry permit in 2020. If our justice system worked, Scurlock would be alive. If our justice system worked, Scurlock’s death wouldn’t be a passing headline. If our justice system worked, we would have actual justice.
