Make racially provoked (even minor) attacks by police a law within itself with severe penalties. Notice the officer wasn't charged with a hate crime.
Make it a law for police departments themselves to be fined severely for every case including non-lethal ones.
Have superiors being also held responsible to an extent for the actions of their officers. Police have ranks after all.
That's quickest solution I have.

Omg exactly, it was hard to get in the city today, and i can’t even explain it, I honestly didn’t do anything wild
I just had my signs and followed the crowd but I was honestly scared that things were going to escalate and get worse but it was decent
One things for sure, the police are definitely triggering the protestors & escalating the situation with their presence and lack of self control
