I feel like the execs are going to be too p**** to cast her tbh
I think Hunter would be a phenomenal live action Gwen Stacy as well
But like I said, these studio execs probably gonna be too scared to make it happen
The absolute SHAMBLES if this happened :samoh:
Transphobia is hella normalized now. So, I doubt this will happen unfortunately
I wish Japanese studios would make these adaptions themselves. Filtering their unique cultural sensibilities through major western companies inevitably washes away all of their charms. Then there’s the silly manufactured discourse you all are already playing into. If I absolutely had to choose someone in the west to play Zelda—then I’d go with Léa Seydoux. Don’t get me wrong though cause I do like Hunter.

It’s very naive to believe studios aren’t cynically making casting decisions, but are avoiding them out of fear of backlash. This is absolutely the kind of thing that would be done. If it’s successful they’re credited with the progressive framing of the choice and if it’s a failure then they have an easy defensive crutch to fall back on. Although discussing any of these issues in a meaningful capacity on KTT2 of all sites isn’t something worth attempting—so I will be peacefully bowing out.

I’m going to just assume you aren’t insinuating that I’m not capable of having a meaningful conversation on this topic.

No that’s not at all what I was getting at. I’m honestly just exhausted and I sincerely don’t think music forums are the best place or context for this.
Holy s*** this is bad lol. Writer's don't deserve the protest they did.
terrence malick directing. a 4 hour epic
They actually decided the Kubrick clone was finally ready to come out of the incubator to direct this

I could see Lea playing a gender swapping Zelda/Shiek type role

Lea would be a good pick
How
He’s just trying to get Twitter on his side
Lmao right? That’s OD specific and pretty left field.
If he’s going for… “tone”… kinda quiet and meditative or whatever I can get that… but that just isn’t possible in live action imo.
Lea would be a good pick
They’re gonna go younger
Yal already know it’s gonna be Anya and Timmy

Lmao I can see it. Anya playing Peach and Zelda she got a monopoly over Nintendo female protagonists. They gonna ask her about Samus too
But the fact they decided to make this live action and it’s a different studio there doesn’t seem to be plans for the movies to overlap so it could happen

Also to be fair Zelda pretty clearly inspired by medieval Europe. Some of the Zelda games have more Japanese elements but they definitely made Link (and Mario) white in their attempt to crack into the American market.
Well Mario just ended up as a white plumber by sheer coincidence of the tech limitations in the earliest days but they ran with it.

Damn I forgot about peach lol
Samus should be a little older and sexier… we need a new Ripley. give me Ana de Armas.
