I mean when i was a kid and listened to the underground rap of the time, only certain niggas knew. Kids most of the time arent hip into certain scenes cuz they too young to care

i mean i shouldnt even be here defending these niggas cus tbh im not a huge fan of most of em an i feel like they pretty much all wasted their limelight, but i feel like the underground in general is very popular with the youth and in time some of these artists might be considered legends like uzi etc.

tana, che, ken, etc. some of these artists are cementing a legacy

I honestly dont see it. And thats not being older or a hater cuz like i said i listen to all of this. And i enjoy it, its fun. But i cant see it lasting in the longrun. Uzi’s era etc lasted and blew up so big because at that time, that kind of scene wasnt tapped into, so it was more new and fresh, and helped rap become number 1. But these artist now are not getting those same early uzi etc numbers cuz rap isnt number 1 anymore and ppl have already seen this. Its not shocking or edgy anymore. Could they become underground legends sure, but i cant seem many of them being super big mainly cuz its not THAT wanted anymore outside of 15 year olds, and not even all 15 year olds

The industry doesnt rly give a s*** about putting on artists anymore, back when uzi was going in he was getting put on by people like dj cannon dj drama etc., now no one put on summrs kankan iayze etc only lonely and ken got put on and we see how huge that was for their popularity. Besides yeat (thanks to drake) no one else has any industry push really. The fact that they are doing the numbers that theyre doing is a testament to the dedication of their fanbases which are growing every day despite their lack of output. You can look at the spotify numbers theyve been steady or going up for a lot of these artists despite some of them basically being retired.

    Only for a few months

I remember early 2021 yeat was in the 10k soundcloud play phase. A few months later he exploded. I was listening to dude when he was getting like 1k plays

Back then summrs was on top and it wasn't a debate rly

They let the degeneracy get in the way of their career advancement. It’s a shame cause dudes like Summrs and Autumn are very talented imo. Better than s*** like ice spice
