Another live action disney movie 🤢
@op

they don't want you to know that dark skinned pacific islanders and southeast asians exist

For real tho, kinda disappointed they didn't cast a darker skinned actress
@op
not thick enough
not thick enough
Yeah I came in to check how thick she was but then was shocked at how light her skin is. Tinkerbelle and Arielle etc are black now so why do they want to whitewash Nani

“It’s a fictional character”
“It’s a fictional character”
Lol yeah, but Nani’s heritage is way more integral, they really are stupid over there at Disney

Yeah but it’s a fictional character
Why’d you put it in quotes the first time lol?
I don’t really care THAT much but it just seems very silly and almost hypocritical to be pushing diversity so hard in other films, but when you have a chance to tell a story that actually centers around a certain culture, all of a sudden the progressive casting and representation is out the window
Have any of these recent live action remakes been good?
I haven't seen any outside of Lion King but gonna guess they're all mid due to the lack of hype/fanfare.
Have any of these recent live action remakes been good?
no besides Alice In Wonderland
Little Mermaid coming to break the curse.
Have any of these recent live action remakes been good?
I haven’t seen all of them. Couldn’t even finish Lion King
From what I’ve seen I think Beauty & the Beast or Aladdin are the best but still don’t come close to their animated counterparts
no besides Alice In Wonderland
Little Mermaid coming to break the curse.
cinderella was decent
Yeah but it’s a fictional character
White women do not lack for roles. Even one’s meant for those of a darker complexion

Yeah but it’s a fictional character
But it's a fictional character with actual cultural heritage where their skin color does matter with what white folk do to Hawaii?

Edit: Sydney Agudong is Hawaiian so it's cool. People just wanted somone thick for the actress lol

Jungle Book been the only good one I’m afraid. And that was one of the first

"It's just a fictional character" was the most used argument for everything else so I'm just going to enjoy it as I see fit
