this actually looks so good man
like one of the only live action disney thing that’s looks good
This looks good but i also thought the mulan trailer looked good and we saw how that went
I personally don’t see much artistic value in this. I’m all for reimagining things and putting a new spin on it. But these live actions remakes is just… idk not for me. If the kids love it, then I guess they did their job.
funny seeing twitter learn there is indeed racial subtext to lilo and stitch & shrek 2 these last few weeks
Looks like dog s***. But like most live action Disney movies, no matter how terrible it looks people are still gonna see it and it's gonna make a ton of money.
It's only two Disney movies I can think of that could do very well if adapted to live action. Atlantis and Treasure Planet. And I think making those into live action television shows would be best for them. Get the opportunity to flesh out characters some more and the world the story takes place in. Would be pretty cool.
My 2 year old nephew is obsessed with the new stitch
He already watched the trailer at least 100 times now
Never seen the OG but I'm guessing it also had a super kiddie vibe too?
It's defitinetly more on the kiddie side for the Disney movies

The stitch stuff is adorable but the Lilo & Nani stuff is lowkey sad for a kids movie
Parents recently killed in a car accident and she’s on the verge of losing her only family to child protective services
It’s one of the aspects I was hoping being
live action could help sell more but it doesn’t seem like it
I really don’t like how the conversation of diversity has gone over the last 5-10 years, as well as its implementation. I just don’t agree with the need for the actors to be the thing they’re portraying in screen. Like what are we doing? Isn’t it suppose to be acting?
I understand the need for representation. But if all that representation is regulated to only playing themselves on screen then what? I don’t know the perfect solution to this problem but I don’t think this is it.
Like I had no clue Stringer Bell aka Idris Elba was of British origin when I first watched The Wire. When I watch the show now I can hear some of his intonations sounding a lil off every now and then, but he completely enveloped that role. He did not need to be born and raised in Baltimore to play that role.

not seeing how casting hawaiian actors for ethnically hawaiian characters is a problem

I think it’s important for Lilo and Nani to be actually Hawaiian
the whole series even the sequels and cartoon Lilo always beefing with the rich white girls
