Had to listen through 40+ projects back when I did the deep dive
including tha drought is over leaks hot boys etc quality control was needed fs. He got a couple classics undoubtedly but also lots of ass
One of my favorite Wayne songs
Touché got me there lol
Born Sinner & Forest Hill Drive are his best albums
The Come Up, The Warm Up & Friday Night Lights are his best projects though
so 2 albums and mixtapes 😭
might just be a fan like how dudes here support hadji. i was against it but buddy in the video knows his s***, even if i disagree. he really destroyed carter 3
I was gonna say even if that is @op, at least he knows what he's talking about cause it was a good watch

Yeah I said he got me because Cole doesn’t have a 3rd album I f*** with lol
he has more than enough songs for good albums but he needs better curation or somethin idk

You're sleeping on The Off Season
I was gonna say even if that is @op, at least he knows what he's talking about cause it was a good watch
i just didn’t expect to see a nigga that mad bout Wayne and actually have the defense for it

ngl first minute threw me off
thought its gonna be one of those loud streamers who say a whole load of nothing but think exaggerating their expression makes their point more convincing
I see the argument. But you could also argue that this assessment of his discography is “rockist” and trying to fit his work in a box it wasn’t made for
Does Wayne need better curation or maybe he’s just not tryna be Kanye or Lauryn Hill or Kendrick with the music.

I agree it's an argument focused on albums, and lots of genres don't even care about alnums. But the thread isn't taking away from his skills as a rapper, it's purposely and clearly about albums, so I don't really see your point
Albums vs Mixtapes doesn't take away from a rappers skills. Its just different ways of making music and focus on slightly different skillsets
Kanye/kendrick/Tyler/Frank type fans are still stuck on an outdated and pretentious rubric to judge rappers discographies
I’ve been thinking about this, I think it’s somewhat true.
Carter 1
Carter 2
Carter 3
& Like Father Like Son
are probably his best works but everything else is various levels of mid to trash.
https://twitter.com/RapRoundtablePC/status/1767319567997555132Mans is really just mad like that because his apartment empty
We talking about albums, original creations.
The fact that people can’t defend the albums and immediately jump to mixtapes to defend Wayne is the biggest tell that this take isn’t too off the mark.
I’ve been saying this for years tbh
I really dont care that much about overall discography vs a peak stretch/run
No musician who stays active and releasing for 25 years straight is going to have a good discography for the most part. No one is knocking Bruce Springsteen about the last like 25 years of his albums, I love prince but hes got like 40 albums and a lot of them aint s*** lol.
