Wayne is my favourite rapper but this is a very valid criticism. Not sure why everyone is so defensive. It’s all about the mixtapes with Wayne.
He’s just not a great songwriter, just an elite rapper and that’s ok
We talking about albums, original creations.
The fact that people can’t defend the albums and immediately jump to mixtapes to defend Wayne is the biggest tell that this take isn’t too off the mark.
this is an anti-hip-hop take tbh
You dont like hiphop if you judge artists based of albums alone
Absolutely zero respect for the art form
100%
these grifters need to hurry up & hit play on a Tame Impala album so they can “grow out of” hip hop and stop polluting discussion
tbh this is the only real criticism towards wayne but to me he is such a raw artist who doesn't create his craft in form of LP's, EP's, mixtapes or singles. it's just him, a mic and a beat.
zoomers are in their complete and utter meltdown era
zoomer meltdown
millennial/boomer midlife crisis
rest of us in the middle just like
C5 was a letdown though. Wish Funeral had been C5.
If you say C5 was a letdown in the Wayne thread you’ll get flamed for it
I mean he’s been dropping manure since he got released from jail in 2011.
His 04-10 run is hard for any rapper to touch
you could tell they never heard this
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9k7O1FigE0This was such a lazy sample tho
I remember when this dropped. It was such a departure from Tha Block Is Hot and Lights Out
Wayne is sorta like Jadakiss.....God level rapping and punchlines but with a generally aimless album run and a stronger mixtape catalog.
The Carter Trilogy and C5 are arguably Wayne's strongest albums but, overall, his mixtapes are where he shines the brightest.
Wayne is one of those rappers where you have to really f*** with rapping in itself to understand his GOAT status.
He's not a Kendrick/Tyler/Ye/Outkast type rapper who has avant-garde type of acclaimed albums that appeal to critics, non-rap fans, and hipsters.
Kiss Tha Game Gooodbye >>>>>
yall ain’t like tha block is hot and 500 degreez?
tha block is hot got some decent deep cuts but its kinda bloated. f*** tha world was the main noteworthy track when i walked away from it

His album discography ain't that much worse than Hov's. How got higher highs but there's a lot of stinkers in both
Jay has zero bad albums
Hot take but
C3 got too many skips/filler songs to be a classic. Niggas so blinded by nostalgia and it being the peak of Wayne hype. That's the album is where I stopped being a Wayne fan. Some good songs but as an album that s*** was actually weak and I always felt that way.
Only filler song is Mrs officer
