sniperthey'll cite the "racial jungle" quote but it was ultimately taken out of context because what biden was talking about was busing and how even bernie sanders didn't think it was the solution because it wasn't fixing the root of the problem (unequal society) and how it would increase racial tension among children, he was still arguing for complete desegregation and was very much for intergration, and believed more in integrated fair non-redlined housing to help solve this issue
bernie sanders had this to say: "My point was, that I don’t think anybody thinks busing is the solution. What is the solution, and what I meant by that quote, is that we need to enforce fair housing legislation. I think everybody, whether you’re white, you’re black, want your kids to go to a great community school, not to be bused an hour away. That is the goal that we should be striving for."

i honestly disagree with biden and bernie on this issue at the time, but i do understand the context, intergrated busing turned out to be fine

agreed, he was too neoliberal, however his presidency where he did really nothing to help the people (partially due to being stonewalled by the GOP senate), helped radicalize people further to the left to where bernie could rise, which has helped the real left-wing gain a foothold in america

Yeah and Joe Biden also said that predators who may have had unfortunate upbringings had to be taken off the street because their bad luck wasn’t his neighborhood’s problem or some f*** s*** like that.
