Her album was nice thoughshe been around for a minute.
And unlike other artists she aint have to lie about it.
Like...that's why I DON'T understand why is it with US we put so much of a hamper on goddamn age. It's 10000x better imo to blow up at an age where you can't get taken advantage of nor do you fall for the young nigga tricks they try to put on you.
This fear of mortality we as an audience have gotta cease bruh. The goal of life is to literally age.
Ye and Hov both didn't blow up until they late 20s for goodness sake!

the best artists are the ones that are technically gifted and can put it in a pleasing package in my humble opinion
but you know there's a clear difference between someone that knows how to rap (I'm only speaking of the ACTION itself) and someone that can make rap (the genre)

well yeah i don’t dispute that at all, tbh i just think this sort of comes down to preferences
like Carti easily has better beat selection and can even be argued to have more entertaining/engaging delivery than Uzi, however, i prefer rap artists that incorporate some form of wordplay/or at least attack the production (or just ya know, take care with their writing, idk) that they’re on versus letting it carry them (which honestly, i think a good bit of this whole rapper/artist distinction is even rooted in)
im willing to forgive poor production and lots of other issues provided if the actual rapping + the lyrical content sticks with me, good production, direction etc. just boost it for me, but i prefer a middle ground of sorts just in general, which is why i like Uzi because he can rap and he does it in an entertaining manner—it isn’t like Uzi is Cassidy lmao

I love Uzi but he's a great example of why artists shouldn't listen to their fans, it's like he's stuck trying to recreate 2016 nostalgia instead of evolving

Also I think him & Busta Rhymes were self conscious about being seen as funny / eccentric cuz they cut their hair at the same time and got ultra serious lol

A lot of it had to do with the bs whitewashed narrative that u need a "clean cut" to be viewed as a grown man, especially when approaching 30. That s*** died out thank god. Luda growing his s*** back out with the sideburns is so fire
