Oh yea you right. I think it's partly because the SoundCloud rappers made youth image a part of their identity so naturally as they got older they had to find a new selling point. Jay Z never came in with that angle so his foundation was solid.

No f***ing s***. Everyone knows the context. It doesn't mean it wasn't immature as f*** and something that a grown ass man, or anyone, should have been making for that matter. As hov himself basically copped to..And there was plenty of misogynistic and dumbass records Hov was making besides that. As well as missing with his content on later records like BP3 and MCHG. It doesn't mean he didn't make some great and thoughtful s*** also. But the point was trying to keep up in rap does lead to a lot of rappers making dumb s***.

The context matters here because Supa Ugly isn't really indicative of Jay's output at the time vs the crisis Uzi seems to be going through. Hov made dumbass records but he also made great and thoughtful s*** vs Uzi trying to recreate his 2016/2017 run.

The point a lot of folks in the thread was making is that Uzi doesn't have to keep up he could just evolve and stop letting s*** get to him like it always does

I don’t necessarily think retirement. I think he just wants time to grow and realize his age. I think he comes back with some of the most lyrical bars we’ve ever heard. I say 5 years. He will find inspiration. Artists never really retire. I hope the best for him.

When I say crisis I'm talking about how Uzi perceives their career. Uzi lets others convince them that their s*** is wack / flopping so they start dropping deluxes or whatever, downplaying the last release and hyping up the next.

If the retirement is genuine then it's no shade, but everything as of late seems like it's been reactionary as if Uzi feels a lot of pressure to do so
