i feel bad for Uzi because Demon High is clearly the direction he wants to go in, he thinks songs like Party With The Demons will be his "XO Tour Lif3 Part 2" but people didn't fw the sound[

Just thought about it the other day and I wonder if Party with the Demons got reworked into Demon High.
Ultimately I think the ideas clash a bit, Demon High is this kind of generic melodic pop rap song with no cussing (to widen appeal as much as possible) but it’s about demons and d*** use (likely the demons) so the tones kinda conflict. If it’s supposed to be safe and for all types of audiences (specifically kids since there is no cussing) it also is talking about s*** that goes against those values.
Idk Uzi clearly is kinda back on his 2015 variety with the harder rap songs with yeat, the pop feature with pinkpantherss, and the melodic stuff with Demon High. The variety is there, and some of its real solid, just doesn’t grip me as much as before.
Still excited though, public discourse is trending positive and I know he’s got great songs in the tank so I’m just hype for the next album hopefully before summer
Maaly Raw mentioned in a new interview that an entire Uzi tape produced by him in the future is possible

I'm not so sure
He barely promoted Demon High and didn't even perform it at Rolling Loud NYC on the night it dropped, nor after that at Day n Vegas, it feels essentially forgotten
I think that Pink Tape V1 was poised to drop at the end of Q4 2021 and he needed to put a single out to get the rollout going. I reckon the label (specifically Cannon) stepped in and helped him select Demon High as an initial single. A choice that honestly makes a lot of sense, it's very pop-y and sanitised.
I think I enjoyed Demon High more than most on here, but by Uzi's standards it leaves a lot to be desired for sure. I also do agree with you in the sense that he likes still being able to produce those pop-appeal hits.
For the first time in a while I feel like he just wants to do him, make the stuff he wants to make rather than please the fans by trying to be like his 2016 self. Plus he has so many variations in his sound, like Bill is saying he's back on his 2015 vibes by jumping on any sound and making it work. He just needs to streamline the Pink Tape and find a cohesive balance between his styles, easier said than done but I believe he can do it the energy is coming back

Great snippet, interested how much (if any) of that 2020 December live stuff will actually drop. As always Uzi normally goes for newer tracks over stuff he made in the past but who knows, it’ll be shame if we don’t get a handful of them and the 2016 tracks he cleaned up
