It'd be the project I'd put anyone onto by far out of all his releases. The consistency between tracks is incredible, Uzi actually has a narrative and legitimate story being told through the songs, tracklist is the perfect length, production is great throughout, mixing is the best he's ever had and his flows and vocal performance are also spot on. Its hard to say its anything but his most consistently great work he's ever put out. I prefer music thats a little rougher around the edges (like LIR the original) but I think any music listener would be able to enjoy VTW. The only "complaint" I even would have that its a little too clean for something I want to listen to constantly but I know I still did and do spin it consistently.
It has every Uzi staple I personally love in it, its what solidified me as a huge fan, and obviously took his career to a new level. On the complaint of his voice, I think post 2016 into 17 he was recording and performing so much that it warped it a bit, TPLT is the last Uzi tape where his voice doesnt start sounding a little burnt out (2018-2019 is the peak though you can tell his voice really took a hit those years). But yeah I think it'll be hard for him to top his consistent greatness on that project. LIR2 and EA are great projects but both have certain noticeable dips in quality. Hoping the next is the full return.

Kind of crazy how much better VTW is engineered compared to something more recent like EA
Listening between the two projects, the mixing is so dull and flat on EA. Whereas on VTW everything is so much crispier which contributes to his vocals being so expressive.
Weird that an artist of his status let that regression happen

I feel bad for Kesha, apparently she did pulled all nighters for a week straight to get it all mixed and mastered in time for the drop. Clearly when Canon and Drama were in the picture they had a lot more control of that (one big thing I remember from the early days was an interview where Uzi just wanted to keep dropping music but those two slowed his roll and forced him to put together a full release instead of just loosies circa late 2015 early 2016). I think without their guidance theres some noticeable drops in quality all around in the music, p sure they were really making sure it was perfect and timeless where Uzi doesnt have that type of expertise.

100% agree on the mixing part though he has some standouts tracks here and there like bankroll where the autotune is done to perfect
It blows my mind that teenagers who didn’t even know about Uzi until XO was a hit are trying to control the narrative about Uzi falling off nowadays
And it’s almost all over snippets and Uzi dating JT, one almost doesn’t matter at all (since he barely releases what he previews anymore) and the other doesn’t matter at all.
I’m starting to think music discussion and a***ysis is going to die in a real sense in the next decade and opinions will just be “trash, fell off” or “fire, it’s a hit” with no in between or nuance.
i sincerely think media people/outlets like Akademiks have led to this decline in actual music discussion, and has instead lead to people obsessing over sales and letting that dictate their tastes. that last line you put is so true too, and is pretty much the only things Akademiks has to say on anything about music

I don't think he can do it like that again at all, and it's a sad truth, but it's a truth. It's like Young Thug, we all know he was better back then, but we kinda just settle with how he is now

Need another Early 20 Rager/Slayer type rockstar ballad on his upcoming so so badly I s2g

In another 10 years he'll be back
nah not even i think this next one might be crazy
ive stopped listening to snippets though and took a step back and realized all is not bad as it seems. I think uzi still and will always have it

Please don't say that
So crazy getting a 2016 cut song as an official drop in 2021, just goes to show even the extra is great from that era

To me it’s the most jarring part, cause he doesn’t do the “huh what?” Or “yeahs” the same at all anymore
Still blows me that bro goes on a tour with The Weeknd and the best they could come up with was Unfazed
Speaking of which (that Gucci song is on a Mike Will beat) how did Rae Sremmurd and Uzi never collab? They were on that Weeknd tour too

Big difference between 21 and 27
