https://twitter.com/LILUZIVERT/status/1371302418026221569The idea of Uzi jamming out to his older songs like Nuyork Nights or Paradise or Stole your LUV or Grab the Wheel would be so cool to me, I think it's useful to be reflective like that, can often lead an artist to understand why often their earlier material remains so timeless

I think Uzi knows what majority of fans want, he's made that pretty apparent, I'm mainly concerned about stagnation, theres 3 paths he can go based off some of his current stuff which is: full revert back to his old stuff (which isnt going to wow anyone even if the music is good and is gonna turn new fans away), full push to the more hard and lyrical sound which will def bring new people in but kinda tell the old fans the old days are over and they may peace out for good, and path 3 which he seems to be on is evolving his old sound with new and old producers and really focusing on his big strength which is his melodies and heartbreak style songs.
He's just in a tough spot cause he's made so much music that hes used so many incredible melodies already thats its gonna be hard for him to innovate in that lane without stagnating or doing something so similar to stuff he's already done

Couldn't have said it better myself king
As a side-note, it's always been bizarre to me that EA garners such a lukewarm reception from people (primarily on this site lmao) considering Uzi structured it in order to showcase all three of those avenues you just mentioned - Baby Pluto section had the hard lyrical sound, Renji was focused on melodies and the third act's sound played into the notion of what the archetypal Uzi song should sound like.
I suppose one thing to consider though when looking critically at the sound of EA was the omission of producers who helped Uzi to cultivate his sound early on during his career - even during the third act of the album Uzi still relied on mostly new school producers.
Nostalgia seems to be the biggest enemy of him right now honestly, a lot of casual listeners just can't get over the sound (as well as the aesthetic) that he was rocking with in 2016.
The Working-on-Dying house of producers are super talented, and the Brandon slander is a corny trend, the guy is versatile. Even so, it's difficult to deny the consistently great dynamic Uzi had with producers like Cannon, Maaly and Metro which seemed to spawn his biggest hits.
With that said, yeah I'm hoping for him to embrace path 3 as well as that one has the greatest potential for artistic progression. Sprinkle in some heartbreak vibes, as well as a bit more introspection, and we got him cooking up a classic

100%. I was on the Brandon hate wagon but after these new snippets its obvious his production wasnt the issue, its the samey beats Uzi was choosing to rap over compared to his harder s*** thats better and more versatile. EA hate is bizarre to me (I really preferred the first 1/3 of the album and those songs did the best on the album on the charts) but I can see why the old fans want what they want since rap has changed a decent amount and the old style got saturated by less talented artists so even if he did go back, its gonna sound samey just based on the scene currently.
He seems to be in a good place and realistically this is the most promise I've had for him dropping another classic since early EA era (although a lot of the EA loosies that leaked over WOD production were pretty underwhelming and are by far my least played leaks).
I wish Forza was still around they had such good chemistry together but still, all the producers (especially DP) coming back has made me very excited. Bout to be a crazy new era, I'm just hoping we start getting some single releases or something soon now that we are rolling into spring / Summer time, thats when his music hits hardest.

Just out of interest, what song is your favorite from the first 1/3rd of EA?
Out of those first 6 tracks I still only spin Baby Pluto, Lo Mein & POP - with You Better Move being my least favourite track on the entire album
And yeah facts, Forza did Fake From the Jump beat
talented guy

Baby Pluto / Lo Mein / POP / Silly Watch. You Better Move is fine but the beats kinda annoying and Homecoming beats my least fav on the album but thought Uzi went off, middle of the album was the most mediocre point for me not like any of the songs are bad but outside Celebration Station and the edit I found of Chrome Heart Tags with Keef's version I don't really play any of those tracks a lot
