I’m with you I don’t blame Brandon 100% (even if it is funny to clown on him for being mediocre half the time) it’s really Uzi fault for wanting to rap over the same type of beats over and over.

IMO Uzi just getting lazy when it come to the music (not his work ethic but his effort for each song). He be picking some very sus production lately (stuff that sounds really generic or like off and not great), and he stopped trying to really focus on melodies and he changed his flow to rap way more systematic than he used to. It just feels like he dumbing it all down, cause it’s easier, and takes less creativity.

Maybe he will return to form, but for every set of fire snippets we get, we get a set of generic boring ones and it never used to be that way.

I get u. But he was a kid then still finding his self. I agree he can use diff beats now. But there’s an obviously disconnect with F1lthy. I used to think Carti beats carried him but I thought The opposite of WLR. All the beats majority of KTT say are amazing literally give me a headache and are the worst parts of the songs.(KTT is in the minority) so maybe uzi just doesn’t like that sound of production lol. Because it literally sounds really bad to me. But y’all think it’s genius. So there’s a disconnect somewhere.

But like getting bigger and more experienced doesn’t mean you should make decisions that makes the music worse at the end of the day. So Uzi picks more mainstream, conventional, simple production now (could be for any number of reasons), but to offset the production he needs to step it up vocally and come with a good flow, or crazy bars, or a fire hook otherwise the songs mediocre. And tbh he just doesn’t elevate the songs to make them at least good all the time anymore. When you got more unique production, sometimes it can elevate an artists performance on a song.

You fw young thug, it’s fair to say his production he jumps on is much more simple and conventional now than it ever was when he was coming up, but he elevates the songs by doing hard s*** on the beats. Uzi isn’t there consistently, that’s my issue with his direction currently. Way more is falling in the middle rather than the higher tiers.

This may sound weird and simple but I think most of this has a direct correlation with the amount of d**** an artist takes lol. When uzi was xanned out his mind all the time that sparked the stuff you’re talking. Seems he’s calmed his lifestyle down now. And his music mellowed out with it. Same thing happened with Wayne Future Gucci and lot of other artist.
