ktt full of uzi threads lately
Thats the effect of when hes active on Twitter tbh, i think back to when fustal shuffle & that way dropped leading up to EA's & the deluxe release, it was such a fun time cause he was active & droppin music, not to sound dramatic but the world lowkey needs this
Uzi always tryna make sure the fans happy & the fans need to reciprocate that energy
TM88 x uzi back too
They’ve made some good songs but like, all TM did for XO was add the drums and s*** the melody was already made for him by one of his producers. Slayerr was cool, but I’m much more excited for this DP x Uzi and Slade x Uzi reunion than TM

It’s tough when the fans spew the same 3 lines constantly at him that all boil down to the same thing: redo/release ur old s***. One of the biggest pushes of a fanbase to have their artist regress their evolution I’ve ever seen. If his heart ain’t in making the same ole same ole, no way it will ever live up to expectations. These new snippets are proving Uzi can easily walk it back but is that what he really actually wants? When he says he loves the fans more than himself I 100% agree even though most would say that’s a lie. This age of extreme fan entitlement and interaction has gotta end sometime. Not only is it not enough for Uzi to drop a mixtape where half the tracks were highly anticipated old songs, but now he has to go back and make s*** that ain’t even current to appease them.
I saw a comment that said “people just want Uzi to go back to making music in 2016 because that’s when their life peaked” and I could not agree more. The fault ain’t on him 100% that you don’t enjoy his new stuff, it’s on you for being stuck in the f***ing past and not growing as a listener

I actually like how he’s progressed and loved the f*** out of EA, so it is kinda weird to see him regress so to speak lol. We’ll see though, I have faith. I just need so melodic Uzi tbh and we good

The big complaint I’ve seen about Uzi’s new stuff is his move away from melodic stuff (which I think is valid, he can rap his ass off but so can a lot of others, his melodies set him apart from the rest (or at least did at the time)).
I’m glad he did his own thing for EA, not barring it from criticism I think he kinda failed to actually execute on the theme of the album which is the major flaw but the music is still very solid.
Saying “Regress” is even tough because to many, his music was more sonically interesting back then compared to now, but artistically HES grown a lot. Some would say he became complacent and that’s why the new stuff is more “mediocre” than “standout” but like we have also been primed with 5+ years of his music now, he ain’t the fresh young SC artist we all heavily anticipated and just learned about anymore. So the bar is so much higher than it ever was, and the fact that people still believe and are interested says to me if anything he’s actually improved a lot as an artist.
I’m excited for the future. I’m not excited about the legacy that the fans are actively trying to ruin, but ultimately the music will be the true benchmark in the end.

Yeah I was hesitant using regress lol, because ultimately it’ll never be that. I just think that most musician’s progress is linear and sequential, meaning that no matter how hard they try, they’ll never be able to capture what they’ve done in the past. I guess it isn’t impossible, but 2016 was a special year for everyone generally speaking. Lots of factors into why Uzi was popping that year and why he music sounded how it did, but yeah I just think that ultimately Uzi needs to stick to the melodic s*** just like you said. That’s definitely his strong point.

They updated the mixing for pxbp on Spotify
Updated more than that song too, a lot of songs had minor changes in mixing, possibly all of em
