he's an independent artist whose buzz has been fading for a minute
no disrespect, but even the 222 album he dropped (in 2023) after getting shot, and being on Columbia, plus a lot of industry features was a steep sales decline compared to his last in 2021, the destined to win joint.
so now, with no label support, only a NoCap Feature, and a pretty significant run of controversy, he was sure to flop. tbh Tjay has had plenty of situations, both legal and petty internet drama that make him in a pretty unfavorable light, he seems a bit immature. and I'll be real, no man is perfect, but just cynically, for someone who could've run with the redemption arc and turning over a new leaf etc, even if it was just for the public image, he squandered a lot of goodwill that was built up after his tragic shooting took place and everybody was rooting for him, as the time went by, he just kept making headlines for the wrong reasons, beefing with Kai over thots, shooting Offset, calling niggas rats, all this nonsense
